Speaking to graduating students at Delhi's IT, Dr. Murli Manohar joshi, Union Human Resource and Development Minister, gave some pertinent words of advice. Calling on students to become "IT masters" instead of mere "IT clerks;" the minister reminded them of their crucial role in leading India to economic recovery and resurgence in the new century. As developed countries have seen, the infusion of new technologies has far-reaching consequences for nearly every industry, and thus is critical to economic growth in the coming years. Joshi is correct in positing that the graduates of Indian technical institutes must guide the new knowledge economy of the future. Now India need only produce enough "masters" to take the lead.
